Demoiselle de Rhuis

The menhir Demoiselle de Rhuis (also called Pierre de Rhuis) is located northeast of Rhuis , south of the river Oise in the Oise department in France . The menhir has been classified as a monument historique since 1982 .

The approximately 3.0 m high, 2.3 m wide and 0.5 m thick menhir is the remainder of a megalithic ensemble called "Demoiselles de Rhuis", which according to statements from 1764 comprised at least six menhirs. Before the French Revolution (1789–1799) there were two menhirs left, one of which was broken in 1793.
