Democratic History (DG) is a historical scientific journal. It is on behalf of the Association of Political and Education Schleswig-Holstein eV from the Advisory Council on history published and appears in the Series publication of the Advisory Board for history.

The Advisory Board for History describes DG as its “flagship”, as “a forum for research and scientific and popular presentation of the history of Schleswig-Holstein from the Middle Ages to the recent past.” Authors are both scientists and laypeople - local researchers, teachers or students - who are explicitly invited to submit manuscripts on topics of regional history .

The editors are Robert Bohn , Susanne Bohn, Uwe Danker , Sebastian Lehmann-Himmel, Sebastian Lotto-Kusche, Astrid Schwabe , Dirk Stegmann. Previous editors were u. a. Detlef Korte , Klaus-Joachim Lorenzen-Schmidt , Harald Schmid and Manfred Jessen-Klingenberg , who was made honorary editor in 2008.

DG appeared up to the 10th volume with the subtitle Yearbook on the Labor Movement and Democracy in Schleswig-Holstein in the Neuen Malik-Verlag , Kiel, from the 11th volume simplified to the yearbook for Schleswig-Holstein in the Schleswig-Holstein history publisher, Malente.
