The Denfeld Mountains are a group of scattered mountains in Marie Byrd Land, West Antarctica . They are between Crevasse Valley Glacier and Arthur Glacier in the Ford Ranges .
The mountains were explored during the first (1928–1930) and second Antarctic expedition (1933–1935) of the US polar explorer Richard Evelyn Byrd and the United States Antarctic Service Expedition (1939–1941). It is named after Admiral Louis E. Denfeld (1891-1972), head of naval operations and from 1947 to 1949 Chief of Staff in the United States Navy , who was involved in the planning and organization of Operation Highjump (1946-1947).
