Denis Briçonnet

Denis Briçonnet ( 1479 - December 15, 1535 ) was Bishop of Toulon , Lodève and Saint-Malo .

Life

Denis Briçonnet came from the marriage of Guillaume Briçonnet , Cardinal of Narbonne , and Raoulette de Beaune. Two of the five children received episcopal ordination.

Denis Briçonnet was ordained Bishop of Toulon in 1512. On April 18, 1513, he was appointed Bishop of Saint-Malo to succeed his father - an office he held until his death. As the successor to his older brother Guillaume , he was also Bishop of Lodève from 1516 to 1520 .
