Denis Alexejewitsch Kolodin ( Russian Денис Алексеевич Колодин ; born January 11, 1982 in Kamyshin , Russian SFSR ) is a Russian football player . The central defensive player has been under contract with Altai Semei since 2016 and was part of the Russian national team until 2010 .

Kolodin came to the youth of Olympia Volgograd at the age of 14 , for which he made his debut in the third season of Russian professional football in 2000. At the turn of the year 2001/02 he moved to the promoted league Uralan Elista , where he was able to establish himself quickly and played regularly for the U-21 team of his homeland, but only after his move to Krylja Sowetow Samara for the 2004 season he succeeded the final breakthrough. He quickly became a key player in the defense of Samara, who won third place in the championship and reached the final of the Russian Cup. He was also used for the first time for the Russian selection in August of that year.

In the summer of 2005, Krylya Sovetov got into serious trouble, which forced the club to sell Kolodin to the capital club Dynamo. He also quickly became a regular in defense at Dynamo, in 2006 and 2007 he was selected by the Russian Federation in the list of the 33 best players in the Premier League.

In the summer of 2008, Guus Hiddink appointed him to the Russian squad for the European Championship . There he drew attention to himself with a series of dangerous long-range shots, but missed the semifinals against Spain, in which Russia was eliminated.
