Denise Marie de Casabianca (born August 1, 1931 in Paris ) is a French film editor .

Life

Denise de Casabianca was born in 1931 in Paris to Antoinette (née Flot) and Louis de Casabianca. After working as an assistant editor on Jules Dassin's classic crime film Rififi (1955), de Casabianca worked regularly as an editor for the film. She made her first independent cut with Jacques Rivette's short film comedy Chess - and other games (1956), which was followed in 1957 by the short film Le Bel indifférent by Jacques Demy . For the film drama They called him Rocca (1961) with Jean-Paul Belmondo and Christine Kaufmann , de Casabianca was used, directed by Jean Becker . She worked again with Rivette for the film dramas Paris Belongs to Us (1961) and The Nun (1966).

She then worked as an editor for director Barbet Schroeder on several occasions , for example in the film dramas More - more - always more (1969) and Maîtresse (1975). In 1984 she was nominated for the César in the category Best Editing for Patrice Chéreau's film drama The seduced man - L'Homme blessé , but lost to Jacques Witta . Most recently she was responsible for editing Raúl Ruiz 's star-studded Proust film Die wiederfinde Zeit in 1999 .

Their marriage to the director Alain Cavalier gave birth to their daughter Camille de Casabianca (* 1957), who is also active in the film business as an actress and director. After the divorce from Cavalier, Denise de Casabianca married Daniel Goldenberg.
