biography

Dennis Alexio, nicknamed "The Terminator", is considered to be one of, if not the greatest, heavyweight kickboxing world champions in sports history to date . Alexio was also a professional boxer and won 7 out of 8 fights, 5 of which by knockout.

He developed a very close friendship with the actor Jean-Claude Van Damme ; the two appeared together as brothers Eric and Kurt Sloane in the movie Karate Tiger 3 - The Kickboxer (1989).

Although Alexio has already appeared in a few films, he has mainly focused on his professional kickboxing career and won numerous titles at the world championships of the IKF, KICK, WKA , ISKA and FFKA. At times he was the undisputed kickboxing world champion of all these associations.

Alexio won the IKF World Championship title in Hawaii on May 31, 1987 , when he defeated the Englishman Barrington Patterson by technical knockout after the 5th round . He was able to successfully defend his title in Sacramento for the first time in May of the following year , when he defeated the French Achille Roger by a technical knockout in the 5th round.

More recently, Dennis Alexio has retired from martial arts . His world championship title was withdrawn by the IKF on November 24, 2003 after Alexio had not reported back on his future sporting career at the request of the organization in June of the same year.
