Densetsu no Yūsha no Densetsu ( Japanese 伝 説 の 勇者 の 伝 説 , German "The legend of the legendary heroes"), Den'yūden for short ( 伝 勇 伝 ), is a light novel written by Takaya Kagami and illustrated by Saori Toyota - Line. It appeared from 2002 to 2006 within the Dragon Magazine published by Fujimi Shobo . It was continued by the light novel series Dai Densetsu no Yūsha no Densetsu ( 大 伝 説 の 勇者 の 伝 説 , "The legend of the legendary great heroes") which has been published in the same magazine since 2007. Building on the book series, two more offshoots by the same authors were created in the same magazine. Toriaezu Densetsu no Yūsha no Densetsu ( と り あ え ず 伝 説 の 勇者 の 伝 説 ) appeared parallel to the first series from 2002 to 2007 and was shortly after the end of the series by Dachita Kuroi Yūsha no Densetsu ( 堕 ち た 黒 い 勇者 の 伝 説 , "The legend that had fallen off." Heroes ”) continued.

Based on the plot of the novel series, numerous adaptations were made, including a radio play , a manga , a game for the PlayStation Portable and a 26-part anime television series.

action

Densetsu no Yūsha no Densetsu takes place in a scenario comparable to the technical level of the Middle Ages. However, the world is not based on the real model and has been supplemented by magical abilities that can be used in armed conflicts. The Empire Roland and the surrounding states face each other and are involved in various political conspiracies, which often result in the elimination of the leaders.

The young man Ryner Lute ( ラ イ ナ ・ リ ュ ー ト , Raina Ryūto ) is known for being a casual, sleepy student of Roland. As a pupil he befriends the later king of Roland, Shion Astal ( シ オ ン ・ ア ス タ ー ル , Shion Asutāru ). He also unknowingly builds a deeper relationship with his classmate Milk Callaud ( ミ ル ク ・ カ ラ ー ド , Miruku Karādo ), which he does not reciprocate. He himself is a bearer of the Alpha Stigma (複写 眼（ア ル フ ァ ・ ス テ ィ グ マ）, arufa seiguma , literally: "copy eyes"), a quality with which he can analyze and also imitate the magic of enemies. However, due to his eyes and his origins from the Lutelu family , he is often despised as a monster. The reason for this is the fact that the wearers of this property tend to get out of control in life-threatening situations and attack everything around them, whether friend or foe.

During his training there was an incident in which the students were attacked by warriors from Estabul. When many of them are struck down, Ryner loses his temper and gets out of hand. However, he is the first known person with this quality to manage to regain control after the fight. Accordingly, he and his friends, in whose presence he came to his senses again, are imprisoned and are to serve as test subjects. However, Ryner takes all the guilt on himself and succeeds in buying their freedom through a trade. However, he himself spends the following time in a dungeon, from which he is released several years later. Pending his death sentence, he is utterly amazed to see Shion Astal sit on the throne of the country. He was led by the extremely strong but no magic Bishōjo Felice Ellis ( フ ェ リ ス ・ エ リ ス , Ferisu Erisu ). As it turns out, Shion has meanwhile blossomed into the kingdom and is little interested in wars, but still faces the increasing threat. So that he can release Ryner, he gives him the task of traveling the country and looking for relics of the legendary hero .

Since he would probably just hang around somewhere asleep the entire time during his trip, Shion assigns him Felice as a companion, who only reluctantly pursues this task, since she always considers Ryner a loser and a criminal. So the unequal couple embarks on a journey, while Shion tries to assert himself as a young ruler, but does not have the support of the nobles of his people. Unknowingly, he puts Ryner and Felice in danger with his chess moves.

Each of the four light novel series was written by Takaya Kagami and illustrated by Saori Toyota . They all first appeared in Dragon Magazine . Later, the individual chapters were combined into Tankōbon editions, which were edited by Kodansha .

Adaptations

Manga

Parallel to the light novel series, Saori Toyota , illustrator of the novels, began to use it to draw the manga Nantonaku Densetsu no Yūsha no Densetsu ( な ん と な く 伝 説 の 勇者 の 伝 説 , dt. "The legend of somehow legendary heroes"). This did not follow the plot of the original, but supplemented it with some side stories, which parody the characters and are mostly kept in the Chibi style. The short chapters appeared from 2002 to 2009 at irregular intervals within Dragon Magazine and were. The chapters in the tankōbon edition of the same name have been summarized (February 9, 2009, ISBN 978-4-04-712592-6 ).

The first series of novels Densetsu no Yūsha no Densetsu was adapted by Hiroko Chōzō as a manga of the same name. A third adaptation of the story is the manga Gakuen Den'yūden ( 学園 伝 勇 伝 ) which has appeared in Monthly Dragon Age since June 9, 2010 . It is drawn by S. Kosugi .

computer game

Based on the first three editions of the novel, the computer game Densetsu no Yūsha no Densetsu - Legendary Saga ( 伝 説 の 勇者 の 伝 説 -LEGENDARY SAGA- ) was created for the PlayStation Portable . It is a role-playing game (RPG) released on February 18, 2010 by Kadokawa Shoten .

Anime

An adaptation of the book series as an anime television series was produced by Studio ZEXCS under the direction of Itsuro Kawasaki . The characters were designed by Noriko Shimazawa based on Saori Toyota's drawings. Miyu Nakamura was responsible for the music , while Yoshikazu Iwanami took over the sound.

The first broadcast of the 24 episode series began in the early morning hours of July 2, 2010, on the previous television day on TV Tokyo . The transmitter Television Osaka , TV Aichi and AT-X began a few days later also with the broadcast.
