The department of Chacabuco is located in the east of the province of San Luis in the western center of Argentina and is one of nine administrative units in the province.
It is bordered by the Junín Department to the north, the Province of Cordoba to the east, the General Pedernera Department to the south and the Coronel Pringles and Libertador General San Martín Department to the west .
The capital of the Chacabuco department is Concarán .
