Prague-Kobylisy Depot II

The Depot II von Prag-Kobylisy (also Hortfund II von Prag-Kobylisy ) is a depot find of the Early Bronze Age Aunjetitz culture from Kobylisy , a district of Prague , Czech Republic . It dates between 2000 and 1800 BC. The depot is now in the National Museum in Prague.

Find history

The depot was discovered on November 25, 1923 while the house was being built on Na Ládví Street. The site is at the southern foot of an elongated hill.

It is one of numerous depot finds from the urban area of ​​Prague. In 1912, in Kobylisy, another depository of the Aunjetitz culture was found just 350 m away .

composition

The depot was placed in a bulbous ceramic vessel with a high neck. This contained six bronze objects : five arm spirals and a small oval bar ring . The spirals are made of ribbons with a lens-shaped cross-section. The bar ring was cast in a double-shell mold, the parts of which had shifted slightly during casting. Remnants of a casting seam can be seen.
