from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Depot I Pisek (also hoard I Pisek ) is a hoard of Early Bronze Age Unetice culture of Pisek in Jihočeský kraj , Czech Republic . It dates between 2000 and 1800 BC. The depot is now in the National Museum in Prague .

Find history

The depot was first mentioned in 1921. The exact location and the circumstances of the find are unknown. There is probably a connection with the Bronze Age hill settlement on Velký Mehelník .

A total of five depot finds come from Písek, three of which (I, II and V ) belong to the Aunjetitz culture and two ( III and IV ) belong to the late Bronze Age . There are also several individual finds of bronze objects .

composition

The depot consists of three bronze eyelet neck rings . The three specimens have different diameters, but all of the eyelets are exactly 63 mm apart. The three rings could have belonged together and perhaps formed a neck collar that tapers upwards.
