The shoemaker is a fairy tale . It is contained in the Irish fairy tales of the Brothers Grimm at number 13, which they translated in 1825 from Fairy legends and traditions of the South of Ireland by Thomas Crofton Croker .

The old Moirna Hogaune tells in the inn because someone claims not to believe in elves, as she met a Cluricaun : One Sunday in the garden she heard a knock in the beans and saw a man working on wooden clogs. She grabbed him and threatened him with the knife to show her his money. He led them, but distracted them by shouting that their bees were flying away. When she turned her head, it disappeared.

At Grimm, a haunted story of the Grenaugh church ruins is told. The ford of Ahnamoe also mentioned in the text is called the ford of the cow ( Ath na bo ).
