Der Sonnenmacher is a picture book for preschool children by Susanne and Jörg Hilbert . The book contains the libretto with sheet music and a musical CD.

The story is told by Martin Baltscheit .

content

The book tells the story of a small green tree frog sitting all day on a tree and gnats eats. One day he would like to check whether there are also gnats on the highest branch.

But as he climbs up, the sun is shining hotter and hotter. So he quickly climbs back down. The deeper it gets, the worse the weather gets . Since the rain is good for his skin, he climbs all the way to the bottom where he comes across many animals complaining about the bad weather. Since the frog would like to be admired by them, he climbs up so that the sun shines. However, after a while, he gets sunburned and his skin is red.

Then a female frog discovers him, but she turns away from him again because of his red skin. The frog jumps after the lady so that it starts raining again. The water turns his skin green again and the lady frog falls in love with him.

Songs

Six songs are embedded in the story. Sometimes it's about frogs eating gnats while children like french fries, or about the frog being redder "than the fire brigade allows". The pieces are sung by Tabea Hilbert and are also suitable for singing along.
