chronology
The monster from the wardrobe The day the world ended -

The day the world ended is the second album by the German deathcore band We Butter the Bread with Butter . The album was released on May 14, 2010 and, like the first album, The Monster from the closet was recorded in the apartment of the singer Tobias Schultka. Since the first album, three new musicians have joined the band. The artwork for the album recorded Tobias Schultka itself.

style

The day on which the world ended is musically similar to its predecessor The Monster from the Closet . With “Der kleine Vampir” the band recorded their first song, which, apart from the interlude “Schiff Ahoi”, is rather calm and melodic. Except for the vocals, this track has no metal elements, it is rather a pure electro track. In general, this album has more electro elements than its predecessor. The band said in an interview that they are just as drawn to pop music as they are to extreme metal. The texts are "just there". There is no deeper meaning.

review

Bloodchamber.de writes about the album:

“WBTBWB are nothing more and nothing less than a slightly above-average deathcore combo on“ The Day On Which The World Down ”. You wait in vain for ingenious moments that were still numerous on the closet monster and sown in wonderfully unexpected places. "..." Despite the deterioration compared to its predecessor, the album is still a solid, entertaining piece of music. " (6.5 / 10 )

In your face.de called the album “solid dozen items” and awarded four out of ten points. Only the piece The Little Vampire and the comic-style artwork, like the title of the album, an allusion to doomsday films, were praised.

Time For Metal, on the other hand, praised it with a rating of 8.5 out of 10: "The day on which the world went down is not made for every taste, but 1A German deathcore and has no shortcomings apart from some exaggeration."
