action
A boy loses a 10 pfennig piece, also called a groschen , which the local savings bank director finds again. The director suggests saving the 10 pfennigs so that it can increase.
Historical background
In post-war Germany in 1956, the population was supposed to get used to saving again. Due to the high inflation during the years of the Second World War and the subsequent bartering, the citizens were only gradually willing to put their money in the bank and not invest in goods. It was presumably primarily an advertising film , which is also made clear by the Sparkasse's client.
