The Little Woodpecker is a 1949 American animated short film directed by William Hanna and Joseph Barbera .

action

When Mother Woodpecker flies out for lunch for a short time, her incubated egg becomes independent and ends up in Jerry's mouse hole. He wakes up and a short time later sees a newly hatched woodpecker in front of him, which in turn regards him as a mother. A short time later, the little woodpecker knocks his way through various pieces of furniture on the mouse and ultimately causes so much wood to be lost that Jerry puts him in front of the door.

The little woodpecker sneaks away sadly and listlessly picks garden tools. Tom the cat's deck chair is also pecked briefly - when the cat pours lemonade over the woodpecker, the woodpecker destroys the deck chair and is now hunted by Tom. Jerry steps in and Tom soon faces two small opponents. In the meantime, he succeeds in swallowing the woodpecker, but it picks its way back to freedom. When Tom Jerry ko suggests and wants to chop with an ax into pieces, the little woodpecker falls a power pole that accurately calculates hits on Tom's head and rams it into the ground.

Mother woodpecker appears and the little woodpecker now sees himself between two mothers. He decides on the right woodpecker mother. Jerry stays a little sad, but the woodpecker appears again and gives him a warm kiss.
