The p 2 is a protein from the European house dust mite Dermatophagoides pteronyssinus . It is one of the major house dust allergens of people .
properties
The p 2 has a homology to the toll-like receptor MD-2 . Besides Der p 1 , it is the main house dust allergen of Dermatophagoides pteronyssinus and occurs in over 80% of house dust allergy sufferers with reactions to D. pteronyssinus . In house dust allergy sufferers, antibodies of the immunoglobulin E type are formed, which are used for diagnosis .
