The Derbi Senda is a moped from the Spanish brand Derbi .

The Derbi Senda is identical to the Gilera SMT 50 , Gilera RCR 50 , Aprilia SX 50 (from year 06) and Aprilia RX 50 (from year 06) (except for the paneling and the associated frame parts for attaching it ). The Gilera GSM 50 models from 2001/2002 to 2004 were also structurally identical in terms of the frame and motor . Like the Senda models of that time, these were equipped with a tubular space frame and the Derbi EBS motor.

The Senda and its counterparts have been supplied with the new aluminum profile frame and the new D50B0 motor since 2006. The engine of a Derbi Senda 50 produces 2.85 HP when throttled and 8 HP when unthrottled.

In the 50 cm³ class, different models are available in mostly two versions - "DRD Evo" and "DRD Pro" only in one - (sorted by price):

  • Derbi Senda R X-Race, Derbi Senda SM X-Race
  • Derbi Senda R X-Treme, Derbi Senda SM X-Treme
  • Derbi Senda R DRD Racing, Derbi Senda SM DRD Racing
  • Derbi Senda SM DRD Evo
  • Derbi Senda R DRD Pro, Derbi Senda SM DRD Pro
  • Derbi Senda SM DRD Pro 80 Malossi

The R denotes the enduro versions ; SM stands for Supermoto . The R versions are intended for off-road use and the SM versions for road use. The two versions differ in terms of tires, fenders and seat height.

The difference between the models lies in the design, features and the resulting price. For example, the radii of the brake discs are different, or a better suspension fork is installed.

The DRD-Pro models are competition versions of the Senda and, unlike other models, also have an electric starter. The DRD Pro is equipped with the normal D50B0-50 cm³ engine, whereas the DRD Pro 80 Malossi is equipped ex works with 80 cm³ racing cylinder, racing crankshaft and many other tuning parts from Malossi. It is not street legal and, like the DRD Pro, is not officially available in Germany.

There are also various Sendas with a 125 cm³ engine from a Japanese manufacturer:

  • Derbi Senda R 125 Baja (Enduro)
  • Derbi Senda SM 125 Baja (Supermoto)
  • Derbi Senda DRD 125 4T (SM / R) (with new 125 cc 4-valve four-stroke engine, developed in collaboration with Piaggio)
