Derman Canal

Derman Kanal (born May 29, 1965 in Adana ) is a German lawyer and entrepreneur .

education and profession

Derman Kanal has lived in Germany since he was 16 (1981) . After High School in Eitorf in Cologne , he completed a study of law at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-University of Bonn and the University of Cologne with the Department of Media Law and International Commercial and Corporate Law .

After several years of professional activity as a lawyer and independent consultant for a wide variety of companies with a focus on international media companies, Kanal founded Natus Media GmbH in 2011, which operated among other things the Radio RadyoTurk. RadyoTurk was the first digital Turkish-language radio program that could be received nationwide from January 1, 2012.

From 1997 to 2007 Kanal was President of Children's Aid Turkey and from 2008 to 2010 President of the Turkish-German Entrepreneur Association (TDU) in Cologne. In 2008 he also founded the Tradeforum as an initiative of the TDU and the city of Cologne to promote the settlement of foreign companies in Cologne. Derman Kanal has been the City of Cologne's economic ambassador since 2011 .
