Fahed Dermech (born November 26, 1966 in Mahdia ) is a former Tunisian football player .

Career

Dermech started playing football in his native Mahdia. At the age of 16 he moved to Étoile Sportive du Sahel , for which he played in the first Tunisian league for five years until 1992 and was a national player for his country. In 1992 he switched to the then second division club VfL Wolfsburg . After 19 games and one goal, he left Lower Saxony and played for the Swiss club FC Monthey . He first came to Hannover 96 in the Regionalliga in 1996 via Eintracht Braunschweig and TuS Celle FC . With Hanover he failed in the relegation round for promotion to Energie Cottbus and then switched to Tennis Borussia Berlin in 1997 . He played for Berlin for two years and rose to the second division with the club in the 97/98 season. There he came to another 23 second division appearances (3 goals).

In 1999 he moved back to Eintracht Braunschweig in the Regionalliga, with which he narrowly missed promotion and for 40,000 or 100,000 marks, the sources contradict each other, also made his second appearance at Hannover 96. Brought in as a substitute player, he ousted Holger Ballwanz quite early in the 2000/2001 season and served as head of defense until the end of the season. After this season with 30 missions, his contract, which had automatically been extended by a year after the 20th mission, was dissolved and Dermech moved back home to Étoile Sportive free of charge. In 2003 he still played for free for the then badly shaken Lower Saxony division TuS Celle FC, which at the time narrowly escaped bankruptcy and helped Dermech with a fresh start. In 2004 he resigned from active football.

In the course of his career, his field of activity changed from a striker (1992 in Wolfsburg) to head of defense (2000 in Hanover). Dermech was considered an all-rounder who was particularly strong at the ball and technically adept.

Trainer

After his active career, he was assistant coach at SSV Groß Hehlen from Celle in the 2017/18 season, and since 2019 coach at SC Wietzenbruch, also from Celle.

National team

For the Tunisian national soccer team , Dermech completed 18 games in his career.
