Derrick Mokaleng (born June 18, 1997 ) is a South African sprinter who specializes in the 400-meter run .

Athletic career

Derrick Mokaleng gained his first experience in international championships in 2016 at the U20 World Championships in Bydgoszcz , where he was eliminated in the 400-meter run with 48.04 seconds in the first round. In 2019 he took part in the Africa Games in Rabat for the first time and was eliminated there with 46.67 s in the semi-finals. In addition, he won the bronze medal in the South African 4-by-100-meter relay through his work in the preliminary run and also with the 4-by-400-meter relay he won the silver medal behind the team in 3: 03.18 minutes Kenya. He also qualified for the World Championships in Doha , where he was eliminated in the individual competition with 45.87 s in the preliminary round and also did not reach the final with the relay with 3: 02.06 min .
