from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Desert Eagle Observatory is a private observatory located near Benson , Arizona. She bears the IAU number 333.

The observatory is operated by the astronomer William Kwong Yu Yeung (short: Bill Yeung). To date, the observatory has registered new asteroids and a comet (172P / Yeung) in 1732. The J002E3 , discovered in 2002, surprised astronomers as it appeared to be in orbit around the earth. Yeung initially thought this objext was an asteroid, but it is currently suspected that it is the third stage (S-IVB) of the Saturn V rocket (serial number S-IVB-507) used in the Apollo 12 mission .
