Deshorn Brown (born December 22, 1990 in Manchester Parish ) is a Jamaican football player in the position of striker .
Career
Youth and amateur football
Brown was born in Manchester Parish on the Caribbean island of Jamaica . As a teenager, he attended St. Elizabeth Technical High School in Santa Cruz, Jamaica . He then emigrated to the USA and attended the University of Mobile in Alabama . After his first year there, he moved to the University of Central Florida . In 2013 Brown decided to drop out to enroll in the 2013 MLS SuperDraft .
Club career
On January 17, 2013, he was chosen as the sixth pick in the first round of the MLS SuperDraft 2013 by the Colorado Rapids , which then offered him a professional contract. He scored his first goal for the Rapids on March 16, 2013 in the game against Real Salt Lake . In the Rookie of the Year poll , Brown finished second behind teammate Dillon Powers . He also scored the third fastest goal in MLS history after just 15 seconds against Seattle Sounders FC on October 5, 2013.
On March 17, 2015, it was announced that Brown was moving to the Norwegian first division club Vålerenga Oslo . Brown scored his first two goals in Norway on April 17, 2015 against FK Haugesund .
National team
On October 7, 2013, Brown was appointed to the Jamaican national team for the first time. On March 2, 2014, he scored his first international goal against Barbados .

Brown became known to a wide audience during the 2015 Copa America group match against Argentina when he took a selfie with Lionel Messi after the final whistle .
