Detektivbyrån was a pop orchestra from Gothenburg that combined Swedish folk with elements of electronic and psychedelic music.
history
Anders and Martin Molin moved in 2005 with their friend Jon Nils Emanuel Ekström from the Swedish province of Värmland to Gothenburg, where they founded their three-man orchestra a short time later. Since then, Martin Molin has been responsible for the sound recordings in an improvised studio; The trio did their own production, mixing, mastering and marketing under the Danarkia label .
In 2006 Detektivbyrån released the Hemvägen EP . Her seven songs not only caught the attention of Swedish critics. Numerous concert bookings followed in Scandinavia, Germany and even the USA. At the beginning of 2008 the trio recorded an album: Wermland , a musical homage to their own homage , fulfilled the high expectations. For its extended tours, the orchestra was now increasingly looking for helpers for the merchandise, but also to be able to safely transport unusual instruments such as porcelain music boxes , toy pianos or chimes . At the end of 2008, Detektivbyrån were nominated as Newcomer and Folk Act of the Year for two Swedish Grammies.
At the beginning of 2009 the planning for her new album began. Jon Ekström left the formation. To encourage creative exchange, Anders and Martin Molin moved into a shared apartment on the outskirts of Gothenburg. In the following years, however, both could no longer agree on a common musical line and in August 2010 they announced the dissolution of Detektivbyrån. Martin Molin opened his own studio in Gothenburg and continued his career with a solo project and as a member of the band Nåt För Alla around the feminist Maud Lindström . In 2013 he released the debut album of the same name with the band Wintergatan . With his Marble Machine , which is operated with the help of 2000 marbles, he became known worldwide in 2016.
