- Detlef Günther

Detlef Günther's topics, which mainly deal with humanistic issues, as well as the theses and current effects of transhumanism , are guided through various artistic media from multiple perspectives. Günther often summarizes his work in groups and cycles. Depending on the exhibition situation, he also relates individual works and media to one another in varying ways. His works ask questions about a current determination of the position of humans and their vitality . The German media scientist Arthur Engelbert wrote in this context: “In relation to the works of Detlef Günther, which move between technology and intellectual contexts, I recognize a general principle: That would be the reappropriation of the“ we ”by the“ artistic individual ”. The venue for this is, on the one hand, very specific in the transfer of useful and necessary work to technologies (social sustainability) and, on the other hand, very abstract in the generation of ecologically non-functional spaces (political imagination) ”. Works by Detlef Günther include a. represented in the Karl Kremer Collection, in the Deutsche Bank art collection (Frankfurt) and in the Gelsenkirchen Art Museum .
