Hans-Jürgen Diehl
Hans-Jürgen Diehl (born May 22, 1940 in Hanau ) is a German painter of New Realism and professor of painting at the Berlin University of the Arts .
Life
From 1959 Hans-Jürgen Diehl studied painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich with Hermann Kaspar , the École nationale supérieure des beaux-arts de Paris with Legeult and at the University of Fine Arts in Berlin . In 1964 he was a master student of Hann Trier .
Diehl is a founding member of the Großgörschen 35 exhibition community , a self-help gallery of Berlin artists in the backyard factory floor in Berlin, and was a member of this until 1969. From 1966 on, Berlin realists united as “Section Großgörschen 35” and represented a critical artistic program that was influenced by the art movement of the Dresden and Berlin Verists of the 1920s. The group also included the artists Ulrich Baehr , Werner Berges , Peter Sorge , Maina-Miriam Munsky , Wolfgang Petrick and Lambert Maria Wintersberger . In the Berlin art scene, the artist stands for a critical and socially critical realism that follows on from the New Objectivity of the 1920s. He represents a modern representational style, surreal, socially critical and photo-realistic.
Since 1977 Hans-Jürgen Diehl has held a professorship for painting at the Berlin University of the Arts .
From 1973 to 1978, Hans-Jürgen Diehl was a member of the board of the German Association of Artists . He lives in Berlin and New York.
plant
The works of the Berlin artist can be assigned to the thematic area of critical realism . Diehl shows political and sexual manipulations in picture scenes, but in contrast to Petrick in the strict regulation of form and color. Diehl's perspective photorealism becomes an image trap when looking at it. While Petrick's realism depicts distorted images, Diehl's manipulated photomontages appear authentic.
