Detlef Haase

Detlef Haase (born July 15, 1924 in Kellinghusen ; † December 12, 1997 in Itzehoe ) was a German SPD politician .

Life and work

After completing secondary school, Haase, who was a Protestant , completed an apprenticeship as a carpenter from 1941 to 1946, which was interrupted from 1943 to 1945 when he participated in World War II as a soldier. After initially working in the profession he had learned, he worked from 1951 to 1961 and after leaving the Bundestag from 1976 to 1982 as an administrative employee in the labor administration . From 1950 to 1961 he was chairman of the DGB local cartel in Kellinghusen and was also a member of the district committee of the DGB in the Steinburg district . Haase was married and had three children.

Political party

Haase joined the SPD in 1950 and was district chairman for the Steinburg district from 1963 to 1971.

MP

From 1955 to 1982 Haase was a councilor in Kellinghusen. From 1954 to November 10, 1961, he was a member of the state parliament in Schleswig-Holstein . In 1954 he was elected in the constituency of Steinburg - Süderdithmarschen and in 1958 in the constituency of Steinburg-Ost.

Haase was a member of the German Bundestag from November 10, 1961, when he replaced the late Kurt Pohle , until 1976. From June 10, 1976 to January 19, 1977 he was also a member of the European Parliament .

Public offices

From 1959 to 1974 and from 1978 to 1982 Haase was mayor of the city of Kellinghusen.
