Detlef Muckel

Detlef Muckel (born August 1, 1970 in Bochum ) is a German director .

Life

Muckel is a trained photographer and worked in the advertising industry. In 2000 he founded his own film production company. Muckel created the short documentaries Black Lies and Living and Dying 45 .

Muckel's documentary film Amok was released in cinemas across Germany in 2008. The film, which deals with the topic of shooting rampages in schools , was awarded the GINGKO Honorary Award in 2015. The short film Rosa and Marie followed in 2010 , a drama about the friendship between two girls at the time of National Socialism . Seven years later, his film Unter uns die Stille - Rheine 78 was released , which deals with the devastating explosion of a dud in the city center of Rheine in 1978. In 2019 Muckel shot the pilot of the series The Last War .
