In a nursing home, the old woman Marie tells her granddaughter about her youth:

In 1938, at the time of National Socialism , Marie was friends with Rosa, a Jew of the same age. She experiences how Rosa and her family are discriminated against more and more. Still, both girls keep their friendship going. In 1942 Marie finally witnessed how Rosa, her mother and other Jews were deported.

The old woman Marie tells the child that she is grateful that she was allowed to spend a small part of her life with Rosa. The film ends with a text overlay stating that Rosa and her mother were murdered in Riga .
