Detlef Orlopp
Detlef Orlopp (born February 14, 1937 in Elbing , East Prussia Province , German Empire ) is a German photographer and university professor .
Life
Orlopp completed an apprenticeship as a photographer with Theo Köhler in Siegen from 1952 to 1954 before attending the Higher Technical School for Photography in Cologne from 1955 to 1957 . From 1956 to 1959 he was a student with Otto Steinert, first in Saarbrücken and then in Essen , where he became his assistant.
In the following years Orlopp worked as a freelancer. At the same time he worked from 1961 to 2000, first as a lecturer and later as a professor at the Werkkunstschule Krefeld (now Department 02 Design at the Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences ). From 1962 to 1973 and from 1980 he was and is a member of the Gesellschaft Deutscher Lichtbildner .
