from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Detward von der Hude (* around 1345 ; † January 21, 1430 ) was Bremen councilor from 1375 and mayor of Bremen from 1417 to 1423 .

Life

Detward von der Hude came from the extensive family of ministers from the Hude from the Archdiocese of Bremen . He was the only survivor of the three sons of Lüder von der Hude . His brothers Friedrich and Martin probably died during the plague of 1350.

He married Anna Doneldey, daughter of Councilor Hinrik Doneldey the Younger and his wife Margarete. Their son Hinrich von der Hude became one of the wealthiest men in town. Her daughter Bartke married the later mayor Herbort Duckel .

After Detwards wife Anna died before 1412, he married Tibbe von der Trupe, a daughter of Hinrich von der Trupe .

Detward was on the Bremen council and from 1417 to 1423 mayor of Bremen. Like most councilors, he supplied beer and wood for the fortress buildings, but also for the construction of the Bremen town hall . On his death he bequeathed his son Hinrich von der Hude Land near Hambergen . In 1443, Hinrich again compiled a list of his property claims in Ritterhude in connection with a court case ; in addition, there were forests in Stotel , which had already belonged to Detward's grandfather, Ritter Friedrich von der Hude , and his father Lüder.
