German-Galician Society

The German-Galician Society (DGG) ( Galician : Sociedade Galego-Alemá ) is a registered association founded in 1993 with its seat at the University of Trier .

The association builds on the Galicia Documentation Center, later the Galicia Center. The president of the company is Dieter Kremer .

The goal of the association is the promotion of science and research through collaboration with the Galicia -Zentrum (Galician: Centro de Documentación de Galicia ), University of Trier.

The association promotes Galician language courses, cultural and artistic events at universities , colleges and other suitable locations. In order to disseminate and support the research results in the field of Galician studies , the association publishes a scientific and regional bilingual Galicia magazine and is building a library on Galician culture.

The members represent Santiago de Compostela , Berlin , London , Cologne , Vigo , Duisburg , Trier , Koblenz and other cities and their university institutions.

The association works closely with the Galician State University of Santiago de Compostela, which is the third largest in Spain with 44,000 students .

The association regularly organizes the Galicia Day , where research results and studies on Galicia and the Galician language are presented.
