The German Catalan Association (DKV) is a scientific professional association whose aim is to represent and promote scientific Catalan studies in German-speaking countries . It was founded in 1987 in Frankfurt am Main as the German-Catalan Society . The first president was Tilbert Dídac Stegmann , the first vice-presidents were Brigitte Schlieben-Lange and Axel Schönberger .

The DKV pursues its goal, among other things, by organizing conferences, including the German Catalan Association , which took place for the 24th time in 2014, the publication of scientific publications , the promotion of scientific projects and young academics, and cooperation with other Romanist associations.
