The German Bank Place is an office building in the Australian city of Sydney .
The high-rise with a height of 240 meters is the third tallest building in the city and was built between 2003 and 2005 according to plans by Foster + Partners . It is the first building that Foster + Partners designed for Australia. Although the main roof is only 160 meters high, the architectural height is given as 240 meters. The attached steel construction appears oversized for the height of the usable part of the building, this was originally planned with a greater height and had to be reduced in size in accordance with urban planning requirements. The main tenant of the high-rise office building is Deutsche Bank , which uses nine of the 39 floors above ground.
