The Deutsche Gamestage was a German communication and networking platform for international game developers , publishers, investors and representatives of the media industry. They were the leading event of their kind in Germany.

The German Gamestage was initiated in 2007 by the Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg as part of the move of the Quo Vadis developer conference , Germany's oldest and largest German-speaking developer conference, to Berlin .

The participants include German and international game developers, publishers, investors and gamers and those interested in games as well as representatives from public institutions and the media industry. Around 2,000 visitors came to the German Game Days in Berlin in 2012. The German Gamestage - DGT has been organized by Aruba Events since 2013 .

In connection with the German Game Days 2012 , Björn Böhning , head of the Berlin Senate Chancellery , said that Berlin, as the “capital of IT”, is already a strong location for computer games , that this position should be strengthened and that games should be seen as an opportunity.

International Games Week Berlin has been the official successor to the German Gamestage since 2014.

Single events
