The German School New Delhi (DSND; English : German School New Delhi) has been a recognized German school abroad since January 21, 1999 and an excellent German school abroad since September 2013 . It is funded by the Federal Republic of Germany through the Central Agency for Schools Abroad (ZfA). The school is privately sponsored, the sponsor is the German School Association New Delhi.

The school comprises a primary level and a lower secondary level with the qualifications Qualification A ( secondary school leaving certificate ), Qualification B ( Middle Reife ) and Qualification C ( Upper School leaving certificate ). Since the 2007/2008 school year (July 30, 2007) there has also been an upper secondary level , where pupils can take the German International Abitur examination (DIAP). The DIAP corresponds to the German Abitur. It is recognized worldwide as a university entrance qualification.

Classes 1 to 12 are taught according to the core curricula approved by the Federal and State Committee for School Work Abroad (BLAschA) . They are based on the Thuringian curriculum and are valid for all 14 German schools abroad in Asia (region 20/21). Work is currently in progress on a central curriculum for German schools abroad in Southeast Asia. The first completely central Abitur examination took place in 2014.

Number of students

There are currently 86 pupils attending primary school (1st to 4th grade). The secondary school, which includes the Hauptschule, Realschule and Gymnasium, is attended by 121 pupils.

Other facilities

A bilingual (German / English) kindergarten is attached to the school. Children from the age of 16 months can be accepted into the “shooting stars”. A child-friendly offer and a targeted preschool program prepare the kindergarten children for the transition to the open entrance area of ​​the primary level.

Regular internal and external evaluations guarantee the review of the teaching and educational goals as well as the adaptation to social requirements and changes.
