The facility consists of a kindergarten, a primary school and secondary levels I and II and offers the opportunity to obtain a qualification recognized in Germany and Poland ( Abitur or Matura ). This means that it is possible to take up a university degree in both Germany and Poland. 60 children are currently in kindergarten and another 280 children are attending school (as of February 2017).

At the WBS there is a German and a Polish language program area. Children with sufficient knowledge of German are admitted to the German program area and alphabetized in the German language. In the 2011/2012 school year, a Polish-speaking first class was opened in the International Department for the first time.

Learning objectives and the organization of lessons are based on the guidelines and syllabus of the state of Baden-Württemberg . Special circumstances at the German School Warsaw allow deviations from this regulation. In the German-speaking program area z. B. also teaches Polish as a mother tongue and Polish as a foreign language.

On June 17, 2011, the 20th anniversary of the German-Polish neighborhood agreement , the Willy Brandt School in Warsaw was awarded the seal of approval for an Excellent German School Abroad after a successful federal-state inspection . Since 2014 the school has been located in a newly constructed building in the Miasteczko Wilanów district of Warsaw .
