The German Association for Inheritance Law and Asset Succession e. V. (DVEV) is an association of professional groups in Germany who focus on inheritance law . The registered office of the association with entry in the register of associations of the Wiesloch district court is Angelbachtal near Heidelberg .

Lawyers , specialist lawyers for inheritance law and notaries make up the majority of the more than 2000 members, which also include tax consultants , auditors , experts and heir investigators . There are also DVEV members in Belgium , France , Greece , Italy , Austria , Switzerland , Spain and the USA .

history

The association was founded in 1995 and in 1997 the DVEV organized the German Inheritance Law Symposium for the first time , which has taken place annually since then. In the same year, the inheritance law training events for DVEV members began, which are also open to non-members.

The specialization courses on inheritance law and inheritance law introduced in 2003 paved the way for the protected professional title of specialist lawyer for inheritance law . The title has been awarded since July 1, 2005 by the bar associations in accordance with the specialist lawyer regulations. Since 2005, the DVEV has been running courses for lawyers specializing in inheritance law in cooperation with the German Lawyers Academy.

Since 2009 the DVEV has been with the sister associations Deutsche Vermögensschutzgemeinschaft e. V. (DVSG) and German Interest Group for Inheritance Law and Asset Provisioning e. V. (DIGEV) in the Inheritance Law Association.

goals and tasks

In accordance with its statutes, the DVEV promotes and supports its members, lawyers , tax consultants and related professions who are active in the field of inheritance law and property succession. This happens z. B. through the DVEV information brochures, an e-mail newsletter, advanced training events and specialist courses as well as cooperation with other associations and partners from the economy. The DVEV issues statements on legislative initiatives in the area of ​​inheritance law and conducts surveys, for example the representative survey on inheritance law provisions in Germany in 2006 .

FAO training events

  • German Inheritance Law Symposium

Every year since 1997, the DVEV has held the two-day German Inheritance Law Symposium in Heidelberg . This event is the framework for contacts, professional exchange and further training for members and non-members of the DVEV.

  • Courses to become a specialist lawyer for inheritance law

Since 2005, the DVEV has been running courses for lawyers specializing in inheritance law in cooperation with the German Lawyers 'Academy and the Inheritance Law Working Group of the German Lawyers' Association . In order to be awarded the title of specialist attorney in accordance with the FAO (Fachanwaltsordnung), the attorney has to prove special practical experience and special theoretical knowledge. The DVEV courses impart theoretical knowledge that encompasses all relevant areas of inheritance law.

  • Training courses and seminars

Since 1997, the DVEV has been offering training courses and seminars that are held nationwide at various locations. The main topics are inheritance law and related areas of law.
