German dismantling championship

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The German Cutting Championship is a butcher's competition. It has been held annually since 2004, then every two years. The venue is Rheda-Wiedenbrück , North Rhine-Westphalia . The initiators of the event are Tönnies Fleischwerk and Friedr. Thick .

From 2009 the cutting championship will be held across the EU, including Switzerland. Every employee of the European meat industry can participate. The Bundesfachverband Fleisch eV and the German Vieh- und Fleischhandelsbund eV are patrons of the 1st European Cutting Championship.

procedure

Participants in the championship must each bonnet three pigs shoulders, and five in the final. The evaluation takes place by an independent jury, the evaluation is based on the speed and the optical condition of the completely dismantled pork shoulder. Women have not yet participated in any of the previous championships.

purpose

According to the organizers, the aim of the event is above all to promote the charitable association Aktion Kindertäume through the income and donations. Furthermore, the craftsmanship and the image of the butcher's professions are to be promoted. Last but not least, the social program of the competition promotes the sociability of the butchers.

Association for Children's Dreams Campaign

On the occasion of the first cutting championship, the Meat for the Joy of Children Association was founded. V. founded, which was renamed in 2007 to the less vulnerable name Aktion Kindertäume - Verein der deutschen Fleischwirtschaft eV . The non-profit association serves to promote institutions for the education, further training and care of socially disadvantaged children and young people, such as the Bundesverband Kinderhospiz eV . Special wishes and dreams of seriously ill and severely disabled children are also promoted. The German dismantling championship and the blue-white night collect funds that go to the non-profit association.

criticism

The German Manager Magazin finds it remarkable in a gloss that a boning competition in the Tönnies slaughterhouse is used to raise money for disabled children. Parents of sensitive children who refuse to eat meat could refer to the role models Uli Hoeneß and Clemens Tönnies (both meat producers and sports officials) who help children in need.
