German education server

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The German Education Server is the information portal on the German federal education system supported by the federal government and the sixteen states in the Federal Republic of Germany . It provides comprehensive information on education on the Internet. The coordinating office of the German Education Server is based at the Leibniz Institute for Educational Research and Educational Information in Frankfurt am Main.

The information offer is divided into editorially supervised subject areas (including general information, school , vocational training , higher education , science and educational research , adult and further education ), inclusion , social education and education worldwide . The educational research topic is created in cooperation with the pedagogical specialist portal and the content is made available there as research information.

In addition, a number of databases offer a variety of research and entry options. There, users can find out about educational materials, institutions, people and events, about definitions of terms in the online glossary, education-related competitions and job offers and job applications. In addition to the simple keyword search, an extended search enables targeted research in individual databases.

As a meta server, the German Education Server primarily refers to information provided by the federal and state governments, the European Union, universities, schools, state institutes, scientific specialist societies, media providers and libraries, etc. However, users can also make entries in the German education server themselves. These external entries are checked by a specialist editorial team before they are finally included in the German education server. A section with current information refers to newly registered materials and the newsletter that can be subscribed to. Here you can also find tips from the editors on changing education-related topics.

A wiki has been part of the German education server since 2007 , which has taken over 500 articles from the German-language Wikipedia as an initial set up. The wiki is operated with the Wikimedia software and can also be edited by unregistered users. However, user activity is low, and so many articles on Wikipedia are gradually becoming outdated.

On the basis of the administrative agreement on cooperation between the federal government and the federal states (2007), the office of the German Education Server coordinates the bundling of publicly funded portals in the education sector. In the context of this contract, the results of the completed BLK programs and current KMK model projects are also secured in the long term. The German education server includes u. a .:
