Transmitter mast Högl

The transmitter Högl ( also known as radio transmission station Anger 1 refers) is a erected in 1969, 200-ton and 157-meter-high guyed radio mast of the German radio tower , a subsidiary of Deutsche Telekom AG . It is a landmark of the Högl , because it is visible from afar at the point 778 meters, one of the highest on the ridge (the highest point is 827  m above sea  level ). It is the tallest structure in the entire Berchtesgadener Land district and the surrounding area.

Even the transmitter on the Gaisberg near Salzburg is smaller.

The transmitter mast carries platforms for directional radio antennas at heights of 34 meters, 57 meters, 80 meters, and 104 meters , with antennas for cellular services on the mast in between; the VHF transmitting antennas are between 115 and 140 meters high.

In favor of the switch to DVB-T , the analog TV channels were discontinued on April 29, 2006.

From May 2008 to the end of 2010, the system also broadcast the Austrian DVB-H bouquet for Salzburg .

Transmission area

The transmission area from Högl extends roughly from the southern elevations of the Bavarian Forest. a. The antenna Bavaria frequency can be received well, over the area of the northern Berchtesgadener Land, the eastern Chiemgau and further to the region around Altötting and Burghausen. In Austria you can receive the station Högl in the area of the Braunau district (Upper Austria) as well as in Flachgau (Land Salzburg) and in the city of Salzburg. Due to a ridge in the north of Bad Reichenhall, the Upper Bavarian spa town cannot be supplied. There is a separate supply for this. The station can be heard on the Autobahn 8 (Munich-Salzburg) and the West Autobahn in Austria as far as the western Salzkammergut.
