The German Franchise Association e. V. is a German trade association for the franchise industry based in Berlin . It was founded in 1978 and particularly looks after the tasks and interests of the German franchise industry. Furthermore, he sees himself as a mouthpiece for the entire franchise industry, as potential and existing franchisees also receive support from him.
tasks
The main purpose is to represent the interests of the franchise industry economically, socially and politically. The association maintains close contact with the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy , the German Bundestag , the German Chamber of Industry and Commerce and the Federal Employment Agency . Internationally, the cooperation in the European Franchise Association (EFF) and in the World Franchise Council ensures, among other things, the influence on guidelines and regulations of the EU Commission in Brussels. The association also works to give its members and other franchisors better access to international markets.
Members
The association has around 300 associated or full members from a wide range of industries (as of April 2017). Full members must have worked as franchisors for at least two years and have at least two franchisees contractually bound. Associate members do not yet meet all the criteria for full membership, they have not been active as franchisors for two years or have no two contractually bound franchisees. Associated experts have been advising in franchising for at least three years, supporting and promoting the goals of the association. You work towards the implementation of and compliance with the rules and minimum standards of the German Franchise Association with your clients.
organs
The regular annual general meeting elects the board from among its members for three years, which consists of the president, the vice-president and four other board members and who represents the association in and out of court. Association committees deal with current technical issues (including law, quality / ethics, digitization); other committees and working groups prepare relevant key issues.
Board
The board consists of (as of June 2019): Kai Enders ( Engel & Völkers ) as President, Matthias H. Lehner ( Bodystreet ) as Vice-President. Further board members are Nadine Brenner ( Rainbow International ), Benjamin Dawo ( Town & Country House ), Ute Petrenko ( Mail Boxes Etc. ) and Anja Roske ( Nordsee GmbH ).
Honorary Presidents are or were Walther Skaupy (†), Manfred Maus and Dieter Fröhlich . The managing director is Torben Leif Brodersen.
