The German Schaustellerbund e. V. ( DSB ) is the top professional organization of the German showman and amusement park industry .

The association was founded on January 13, 1950 in Herford with headquarters in Berlin by twelve showman associations. The main office was then located in Herford , an important showman town. In 1957 the office was relocated to what was then the federal capital of Bonn . In 2002, after the federal government moved to Berlin , the office was again relocated near the government headquarters in the Berlin-Mitte district . The president of the society is Albert Ritter.
Members
Over 4200 individual members from 90 independent show associations are currently registered in the DSB. The Association of German Leisure Parks and Leisure Companies (VDFU) is also a member of the Schaustellerbund, which means that almost 90 percent of the leisure and amusement companies based in Germany are organized in the DSB.
The DSB is one of the founding members of the European Showmen Union founded in 1954 .
The members are independent clubs and associations that defend the interests of their members on a local and regional level. At the state level, the associations work together in branch offices and working groups.
aims
The goals of the association are above all to promote folk festivals , fairs and similar events and to secure and improve the economic and legal situation of its members. To this end, he works towards the creation of uniform legal and economic framework conditions, provides information and specialist knowledge, is dedicated to training and further education and public relations for the showman trade.
Delegate day and trade fair
Every year in January, the Delegates Day, the highest decision-making body in the DSB, takes place. This is organized by an annually changing showmen's association.
The association is co-organizer of the biennial trade fair interschau - international trade fair for amusement parks, amusement, showmen . From October 28 to 31, 2008, the interschau was organized for the first time together with the Italian Technofolies trade fair in Stuttgart as interschau-Technofolies . The plan is to hold the fair in Stuttgart and Genoa every year.
