German ski touring cup

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

German Ski Touring Cup of the DAV is a series of competitions in ski mountaineering for German alpine athletes.

history

In 2003 the DAV ( German Alpine Association ) organized three ski touring races, which were collectively classified as the German championship. In the following year, a series was launched under the sponsored name DAV Dynafit Skitourencup. The overall winners of the series were chosen as Germany's best ski mountaineers. The namesake Dynafit was replaced by the Black Diamond company in 2005 and the number of races was reduced to two races. There was a major change in 2006, when a distinction was made between long (elite) and short (hobby & youth) distances for the first time. In 2007 the DAV kept the structure of the races in order to bring consistency to the staging of the racing series. However, the bad snow conditions forced the organizers to hold the Jennerstier and the Dammkarwurm as a vertical race. For the first time in 2007 there was a German championship in the vertical race at Tegelberg and an explicit German championship in singles as part of the Sellraintaler Skimarathon in Praxmar / Austria.
