Hochgrat ski rally

The Hochgrat ski rally is an annual ski mountaineering competition held by the German Alpine Association (DAV) on the Hochgrat near Oberstaufen .

The Hochgrat ski rally was held for the first time in 2006. The organizer is the DAV section Oberstaufen-Lindenberg.

The route leads from the starting point near the “Unterlauch Alm” (975 m) over the “Oberlauch Alm” (1432 m) and then over the mountain station to the Hochgrat summit (1,833 m), from there back over the mountain station to “Oberlauch” Alm ”and then uphill again to the mountain station.

The daily ranking counts as a race in the ranking of the German Ski Touring Cup . In 2008, Mirco Mezzanotte won the race for men with a time of 1:47:50 hours and for women, Barbara Gruber with a time of 2:06:15 hours. In 2008, the German Ski Mountaineering Championship for the single competition also took place on the Hochgrat as a one-day event. In 2009, the Hochgrat ski rally was held for the first time without a descent as a German championship in the vertical race . In the women’s category, Barbara defended her championship title with a time of 0:59:24 hours and in the men’s category Konrad Lex became German champion in the vertical race for the first time with a time of 0:52:51.
