The German Potato Museum in Fußgönheim , a local community of the Maxdorf Association in the Rhine-Palatinate District ( Rhineland-Palatinate ), is one of three potato museums in Germany , alongside the Potato Museum in Munich and the Western Pomerania Potato Museum in Stremlow.

The sponsor is the registered association Deutsches Kartoffelmuseum Fußgönheim eV , which is recognized as a non-profit organization and whose members are volunteers.

The museum provides information about the botany , breeding and origin of the potato as well as its distribution, especially its cultivation in the Palatinate and Prussia , supported there by King Frederick the Great (1712–1786).

Entry to the museum is free.

One of the buildings of the Potato Museum is the Fußgönheim Synagogue, built in 1842 .
