description
In the south of the Sontheimer Deutschordenshof stands the Martinus Church . In the east of the Deutschhof (address Auf dem Bau 6 ) is the tithe barn . It was built in 1563 and is now used as a fire station . The building of the tithe barn is a stone building with a gable roof and high arched gates. Furthermore, on this tithe barn there is an inscription plaque in the Renaissance style with a coat of arms of the former governor of the Teutonic Order: Volpert von Schwabach .
In the north are the lower wine press and the office building . The office building (address Schwabenstrasse 2 ) was built in the middle of the 17th century and rebuilt in the late baroque style. After secularization, the building served as a teacher's apartment and as a toddler school. The lower wine press was expanded in 1976/77 into an event center with a multi-purpose hall, kitchen and lecture rooms, and since then it has also been called the old wine press . To the west is the Obere Kelter (address Auf dem Bau 3 ). It was one story and now serves as a community center. This building was built in the 16th century and an additional floor was added in 1879 when a school was established in the building.
The fountain on Görresstrasse was built in 1912. It is located in the former churchyard of Martinskirche, which was converted into a green area with a fountain in 1912.
