Deutz INTRAC

Deutz INTRAC of the first series

The Intrac was a tractor series from Deutz-Fahr . The Intrac tractors were built in what was then the Lauingen combine harvester plant.

The Intrac tractors are characterized by an innovative concept:

  • The fully glazed driver's cab was above the engine at the front of the tractor. This means that the driver has a good view of all three attachment areas of the tractor:
    • the front mounting space
    • the loading area behind the driver's cab
    • the rear mounting space

Deutz INTRAC

In 1972 Deutz-Fahr presented the Intrac 2002, the first tractor with the completely new Intrac 2000 system, at the DLG exhibition in Hanover . Technically, these new tractors were based on the D-06 series from Deutz, which had been tried and tested for several years . Since the performance was tight, especially for a tractor with several mounting options, the Intrac 2002 was replaced by the Intrac 2003 in 1974.

Also in 1974 the Intrac 2005 was presented, which had four wheels of the same size as well as a hydrostatic drive . A five-cylinder Deutz engine with an output of 80 hp was used as the engine .

In 1978 the Intrac followed in 2004, which received a newly developed cabin. From 1984 this also reached a top speed of 40 km / h.

Deutz-Fahr Intrac 6.60

In 1985 Deutz-Fahr presented new Intrac vehicles as a study at the Agritechnica in Frankfurt, which were based on the assemblies of the six-cylinder models of the DX series . In 1987, the development of the new In-trac was brought into a joint venture with Daimler-Benz . The Trac-Technik-Entwicklungsgesellschaft (TTE) developed both the In-trac and a planned new MB-Trac series. In the course of the cooperation, the name INTRAC was adapted from the MB-trac to IN-trac . Because of the high costs, the TTE decided in 1990 to stop developing a successor. Production of the In-trac ended in 1990, that of the MB-Trac in 1991.
