Deutz D-06

A series 06 Deutz

The Deutz D-06 series as part of the Deutz-Fahr brand was one of the most successful series from the tractor manufacturer Klöckner-Humboldt-Deutz AG from Cologne . The series was first presented to Deutz dealerships in the spring of 1968 in Cologne-Deutz. Later in 1968, the 06 series was presented to the general public at the DLG exhibition in Munich . It replaced the previous Deutz D-05 series .

History 1968–1982

Details

The D-06 series comprised tractors from 22 to 160 hp, all of which, with the exception of the D 16006, were powered by a direct-injection diesel engine of the FL912 series . The D 16006 holds an exceptional position because it was a tractor with articulated steering derived from a wheel loader and had an F8L413 engine. The entry-level model was the D 2506 . It developed 22 hp and was equipped with an unsynchronized gearbox with 8 forward and 2 reverse gears. PTO with a speed of 540 min -1 and three-point linkage and a suspension and padded driver's seat were available as early as this model. The D 3006 was already equipped with a double clutch, i. H. The power take-off shaft and travel drive could be coupled independently of one another using a pedal. From the D 4006 onwards , all-wheel drive and, on request, a synchronized gearbox with 8 forward and 4 reverse gears were available. On request, the tractors could also be equipped with an independent PTO clutch, i.e. H. the PTO shaft could be coupled using a separate hand lever. The tractor could also be equipped with two different PTO speeds, 540 min −1 and 1000 min −1 . The equipment level of the gearbox was declared by a letter combination after the type designation. SKULD meant for example: overdrive, Creeper, independent PTO clutch, light circuit (synchronous transmission), dual PTO (540 and 1000 min -1 ).

equipment

As accessories there was also a bar mower on the right side (with hydraulic lift and mechanical or fully hydraulic drive), a convertible top cabin (from 1972 also with a fixed driver's cab), a front loader , hydraulic auxiliary control units for driving front loaders, tipping trailers, or reversible plows, and much more.

With the D-06 series, Deutz-Fahr introduced a modular system, which is why the components of the individual tractor types were compatible with each other, which greatly simplified the storage of spare parts. The engine series F (x) L912 (x stands for the number of cylinders) has been installed in construction machines , units and trucks around the world and is known for its robustness, reliability, service life and low consumption.

Coloring

From 1968 to 1974 the tractors were delivered in the "old" Deutz livery, with a light gray engine block and dark green sheet metal, the rims were painted red. In 1974 the sheet metal dress was changed to the "Deutzgrün '74", which is still used today, the block turned dark olive green, the rims remained red. 1977 / 78 took place the transition to the new Deutz-color scheme with blue-black engine block and light green sheet parts, rim color was silver. From 1976 at the latest, people started to run the exhaust up next to the bonnet. This had the advantage that when coupling attachments, trailers and the like (see list of agricultural equipment and machines ), one no longer stood in the exhaust smoke.

Succession

The two-, three- and four-cylinder models were usually with the 1980 / 81 by the series D-07 , the six-cylinder models in 1978 with the DX series replaced.

Even today, a good 40 years after production started and 30 years after production ended, many of these reliable tractors can still be found in Germany and Europe. Be it as a second or third tractor on large farms, as a solo tractor in small farms or as a hobby vehicle. After production ended in Germany, the D-06 series tractors continued to be produced under license in the former Yugoslavia and Algeria .

D 4206 V

The 4206 V comes from a (planned) collaboration between Deutz and Fendt and basically represents a Fendt plantation tractor with a Deutz F3L912 engine and Deutz cladding panels. The V stands for "Vigneron", i.e. viticulture. The guy didn't get beyond the prototype.

Individual evidence

  1. The type designation at Deutz is composed as follows: F = vehicle engine, 2 = number of cylinders, L = air-cooled, 9 = series and 12 = 12 cm stroke height of the piston
  2. a b the P stands for plantation
