Deutz van Assendelft
The Deutz or Deutz van Assendelft and Deutz van Lennep were a Dutch patrician family who also belonged to the nobility .
history
The family came from a suburb of Cologne and came to Amsterdam at the end of the 16th century, where they settled as merchants and wealthy bankers . The members of the Deutz family gained entry into the highest regent circles of the Republic of the United Netherlands through marriages with the De Graeff , Bicker and De Witt . At the end of the 17th century they came to the Amsterdam city government .
They were also related to the Coymans , Van Hogendorp , Trip , Boreel , Van Vollenhoven , Van den Boetzelaer , Tulp , Van Lennep and Graafland, among others . The family owned, among other things, the Free Glory Assendelft with Assumburg Castle . In 1814 they were introduced to the new Dutch nobility and knighthood . In 1913 the Deutz van Assendelft family died out.
